What is FSC?
FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is the world's leading certification system for sustainable forestry. Packaging carrying the FSC mark is made from material sourced from responsibly managed forests or recycled streams.
Three Label Types
FSC 100%
100% of the product comes from FSC-certified forests. The strictest standard, common for premium brands and export goods.
FSC Mix
Mixed certified material: ≥70% from FSC-certified forests, the rest from controlled sources. The most common option, and good value.
FSC Recycled
Made entirely from recycled material. Suits brands emphasizing the circular economy, though the paper feel is slightly below virgin stock.
Rules for Using the Mark
- You must obtain an FSC license code before printing
- Keep sufficient clear space around the mark; never distort it or change its color
- Full example: FSC® C123456 (including the code)
- For exports to Europe and North America, FSC-certified stock is strongly recommended
Cost and Value
FSC certification typically adds 5-15% to material cost, but noticeably lifts brand image and acceptance in international markets — especially in eco-sensitive categories such as food, baby care and personal care.
